expensive rent in dublin!
i lived in Dublin for 4 years from 2002-2006 and moved to cork in NOV 2006.
during this 4years my lowest rent was 380euro and the highest one only 500euro (which included everything i.e all bills, ntl, broadband ,bins, some evening landline national free calls and was staying in penthouse apartment in dublin top area, dublin 4! i know i was lucky :) )
only 1 year...later
i just went to Daft.ie and check out the current average rent in dublin..oh my goodness sake..it was totally out of my expectation!!
let's dont talk about a room in a shared apartment/house in DUBLIN CITY, it is around 500-800 euro in dublin 15,16 ,18...co.dublin.. some where i dont even know where it is even though after staying in dublin for 4 years.
what about dublin city? i dont mean you can't find a cheaper one. but if you are a proffesional and i think you will also have some expections about you living standard.and it COST!now for good size room in dublin city centre, it can cost 700 euro in average and still need to share bills.
i really wondering is there sort of "market rent control"?i know you can complain/report to national threshold/PRTB if you think your rent is too high, but will u complain to them after you have moved into the property and make yourself look dull to your landlord/landlady?and could be ended forced to move out again...
this is so unbelievable.why there is no any "department" can do something about it, to ensure tenants are not over pay the rent...???

Unfortunately with people no longer buying houses at the rate they used to and with investors selling their investment properties/rental apartments there has been a massive increase in the demand for apartments, which does of course mean people will have to spend more to get a place. That's just a simple economic fact.
There does still seem to be a few 'deals' available though - liek this place seems like an ok price [cc_id]=ct1&s[search_type]=rental&s[a_id]=ga1&s[refreshmap]=1&offset=10&limit=10&search_t ype=rental&id=501446
However check out this place for 1600 p/m! [cc_id]=ct1&s[search_type]=rental&s[a_id]=ga1&s[refreshmap]=1&limit=10&search_type=rental &id=494619 - you are basically paying 1600 to live in an ok apartment in one of the busiest/noisiest sterrts in Dublin. I used to live 4 or 5 doors away and the noise would keep me awake til 4 or 5 am . Madness .
