Rep Power: 24 | My wife and I are Americans living and working in Dublin. She moved here back in January into a corp. apartment in Ballsbridge. More recently, we found a bigger place across town in D2, and we're interested in hiring a small local mover to move personal articles (nothing heavy) from D4 to D2. Not sure where to start as I've only been in country for a short period of time. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Sean |

Look at the ads in your local free paper, or log on to local.ie and select your area. You could look at the small ads posted in supermarkets and newsagents. A word of warning, check out your insurance cover and the cover provided by your mover, many of the small "man with van" type operators are unlikely to carry the required level of insurance. Alternatively if you have the correct driving licence you could hire a van and do it yourself.

gumtree.ie has lots of advertisers of people offering van services to move stuff all across Ireland. I've moved recently to a new place and this guy helped me out: Bruce 086 307 0653 He charged me 80 EUR no matter how much weight / stuff - as long as fits into the van good luck ! |

Thanks for all your replies. I moved across town yesterday. I actually had 27 boxes in all, plus a half dozen suitcases. I managed to find a 'mini' removal company that cost a bit more than everyone has described, but it was done properly and quickly with no damage and I didn't have to lift a finger to help. Sean |
