Rep Power: 0 | am in a holding pattern for a new role, which would be based out of Pearse St. I would appreciate some pointers regards where is a suitable location to live that is no more than 20 mins by bus/train from this area & is also reasonably convenient for the airport. Nice to haves but not essential, decent rugby club within staggering distance, couple of decent local pubs, some greenery (if that's not asking too much). Initially looking to rent a room in shared house, but with a view to family joining after 3 months or so. Wee fella about to start school, so that would certainly be a consideration too. Many thanks The Whacker |

Clontarf sounds right up your street, on public transport, some nice pubs and a village athmosphere, RUGBY CLUB, parks and on the coast. Look on Daft.ie for accommodation. Schools are another ball game altogehter, depends on what type of school you are looking for, state, private, religious, secular (or what passes for secular in Ireland) Where are you coming from? |

Im a Jock, Mrs Whacker is Slovak, we will be coming from Switzerland, so Mk II is a little confused regards languages. Regards schooling, state & as secular as possible ... he gets enough religion from grandparents ... thankyou. Will have a look at your suggestion, coming from the West Coast, being near the sea would be a real benefit. Obviously, had a look at the rugby club first & that score points ... ![]() Cheers |

A little bump on this one ... the opportunity looks as thopugh it is coming towards a positive outcome ... Now my next challenge is finding short term rented accomodation for myself ... I would initially be looking to rent a room in a shared flat, as I will be doing a shedload of travelling for the first 6 weeks & Mrs Whacker & Mk II will be staying behind for a while, until I get myself up to speed. Anyone have any good tips, as I need to do this remotely via internet / phone (although will ask company HR for assistance as & when the position is confirmed). Thanks |
