Default Staying in Ireland for One Year

Hello,
I was hoping someone had information on the multiple entry visa, or how I would be able to stay in Ireland for one year.
I have available funds to show that i am self sufficient.
I will also have proof of medical insurance.
I have a place to live.
I am from the US (no travel visa required).
BUT, I am not retiring and would not seek to work.
(this is in case my defacto application gets denied, I'd like to still be able to join by partner even if I cannot work).

Any info would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Not sure exactly what you mean by a multiple entry visa, as a U.S. citizen you do not require a visa to enter Ireland. As you plan to stay for longer than 90 days and can prove self sufficiency, you simply register with the GNIB by bringing the documents verifying your financial self sufficiency and you will get the appropriate stamp on your passport and GNIB card. You can then travel in and out of the country. Multiple entry visas are available to visa required nationals who meet certain criteria.
