Default sales jobs

Anyone out there familiar with sales jobs that can tell me what PA would mean on a job posting with regards to salary? If the salary indicates 35,000-45,000 (PA), would that be a base salary, or potential based on commission. Thanks!

PA generally refers to a Personal Assistsant or secretary, there would be no commission. Unless you have an EU passport you will need a work permit in order to work in Ireland work permits will not be issued for sales and secretarial/clerical jobs as both are in the ineligible categories, in other words, under no circumstances will work permits be issued in these skill categories.

Thanks. My husband will have a spouse/dependent work permit, piggybacking my green card. If I understand, there are not the same limitations on those work permits. Is that correct do you kow?

Yes, the spousal work permit has far fewer conditions in that:

1. It can be for any occupation (with a few exceptions)
2. No labour market test needs to be undertaken
3. Not having to pay the application fee (big bonus!).

Look at the following if you want further information on this: Register or Login to View this Link

I thought PA would mean Per Annum with regards to salary?

Emma you are right in certain contexts PA would mean per annum, I think I took it out of context. With regard to spousal work permits, yes there are fewer conditions but you still need a job offer and employers are becoming increasingly unwilling to process the paperwork required. Spouses are not entitled to a work permit, they are simply eligible to apply if they and their spouse fulfil certain conditions - no guarantees.
