    Hello,
I tried to post a advert on gumtree, so have an idea of rom available and price. I got lot of answer from people, but so far, it all seems scam. (Like first email in euro and in Dublin, second they are talking about pounds and London…. or thing like send money). I didnt really want to book nothing, specially over the Internet, just wanted to have an idea of rooms rental price!

Do you suggest to book a room in a hostel and then try to find a flat?

I’d err on the side of caution (be careful) with Gumtree, their ads aren’t checked by staff before going live and with only 10 staff (according to their ‘about us’ page) checking ads for 60 Gumtree sites there seems to be quite a few scammers managing to get past staff.

Ideally you should try get an apartment before you move (so you don’t have to worry about that after you arrive) but lots and lots of people have gone the hostel then flat route.

Like Nicole says try daft.ie – especially their ‘Roomate’ section http://www.daft.ie/searchsharing.daft
