      American Women’s Club of Dublin

North American women who have moved to Ireland and are homesick or looking for new women friends could find the American Women’s Club of Dublin fits the bill.

Established in 1972 this social and philanthropic organisation has more than 180 female members who all have some kind of link to North America.

The club’s charitable activities range from local volunteer work to fundraising for chosen charities. This year the charity is Action Breast Cancer. They also organise a broad range of cultural, educational and sports activities, something the busy events calendar on the website can attest to.

Also available on the website is their publication Hints for Living in Ireland (€18 incl shipping) which could be useful for those women planning the move over. It covers general topics but also deals with those tricky little issues such as where to bring your mother or mother in law when she’s over in Ireland and nappy disposal customs in Ireland!

There is a new members meeting on the morning of Valentines Day. Membership forms are available on the website and membership costs between €35 and €60.
