New to town, a very small town, where I know not a soul besides my SO and I’m too strong and healthy to only have him be my buddy. That’s sad, unhealthy and NOT me. It doesn’t help that I’m a happy introvert who hates reaching out to others, who sucks at meeting people, and works alone from home.
I treasure alone time, but here, with this new life, I really am craving some semblance of social connectedness. Roots. Sisterhood. Good weirdos. Good souls. Not one to ever be lonely but considering my situation, I am feeling it a bit too much, and really hoping to find some deep, kind, funny, outgoing, creative weird few to connect with and build a friendship. The lack of sunshine is also pretty darn hard. What would make me feel better is physical activity but it’s so grey and not happy-jumping-sunshine-y out most of the time.
Any other cool, genuine, no-bullshit, maybe even happy feminist / expat / nomad / freelance / down-to-earth introverts feeling the same wanna get together for regular drinks, a once or few times a month meet-up, creative projects, support, laughter, a jog, yoga, or just all-around encouragement as we attempt to better ourselves and lives?
Positive energy. Empathy. Laughter. Silliness. Respect. Perseverance. Make this place feel like home. <3
My ideal week would be something like this: work done, a few coffees with friends, go SUP’ing a few times, soak in sun, make sure I get some sort of creativity in. Laughter. Working out. I LOVE travel and exploring. I’d love a shoulder to lean/cry/laugh on and offer one up in return for life’s events.I am uprooted, optimistic, tons of potential, creative, eager for artistic collaborations, chill time, 35 years old and hoping to find an actual “BESTIE” (yes, I cringe at using the word, but am being completely honest, as usual).

Hi Victoria!
It’s pretty much the same situation for me. How are you? How long have you been living in the area?
I kind of forgot about this site but glad to get a reply. š
I’m nearby actually. Not sure how to communicate off of this public thread though… Please let me know. Would not mind emailing or grabbing a tea/coffee/beer. I’ll be in Skibbereen later this week to get my car inspected actually.
Thanks!
Yolanda
